Having been on the wrong end of two very close 10-7 defeats in the first two matches of the season, the Oxford Blues bounced back with a comfortable 10-7 win against local rivals Oxford Brookes. Fresher Callum Richardson continued his impressive start for OUTTC bagging another 3 singles victories, and was well supported by cuppers champion Xi Dai who brought in 3 wins of his own. Club President Luke Austen went hot and cold, with 2 efficient 3-0 wins interspersed with 2 losses, whilst new Maths PhD student Felix Weitkamper also got 2 wins, claiming the winning singles rubber to take Oxford to an unassailable 9-4 lead.
This was the perfect 10-7 win the team needed to kick-start the BUCS season, and OUTTC will hope to keep putting in strong performances in what is proving to be a tightly contested division.
